Zarja Černilogar won this race in the past, and was again fastest among the ladies in the finals. Jure Žabjek and Žiga Pandur finished second and third in the elite man category, behind Polish rider Slawomir Lukasik. Congratulations to all and also our junior riders for local team Rajd-Funsports for top places in the other categories!

Downhill Lošinj is international UCI C1 race, but at the same time also first race of theSlovenian DH Cup.

Our riders after the race:
Zarja Černilogar; 1st place: “It was an interesting weekend. Rocky course on Lošinj wasn’t gentle with my wrist, but it was nice to race Slovenian Cup again. I went on my final run with ‘no pain no gain’ attitude and I’m happy that I won. Every victory counts. Also I would like to thank the boys that helped me get prepared for that run!”

Jure Žabjek, 2nd place: “I came disappointed from Lourdes, of course I’m very happy with how this race finished. I did a mistake in the top part of the course on my qualifications run, I didn’t make same mistake in the finals. I liked course very much, it had more turns as in the past.”

Žiga Pandur, 3rd place: “What can be better than a good weather and racetrack with a sea view from the start and finish line just few meters away from the beach? This race always has really good vibe and also the track was really good this year – big thumbs up for organizers who made good changes on track from previous years. The track was rocky and loose, so it was hard to get a run without mistakes. After easy paced seeding run I decided to turned it up a bit more but that didn’t paid off in the finals as I made a lot of mistakes. Still managed to get 3rd place which isn’t bad at all, so I’m happy about the whole weekend.”
